Satan cannot stand before that Name now, any more than he could before the Man who gave you the right to use it, when He walked in Galilee. Disease is as impotent before it now as it was when its owner, as the Son of Man, walked on earth. Demons fear it today in the lips of a person who walks with God, as when they bowed before it in Jesus’ Day.
All Hell knows the power of that Name; they know our Legal Rights and Authority. So they are fighting to keep us in ignorance of our Legal Rights; or if we know them, to keep us under condemnation so we will not dare use them.
Matthew 18:18-20, “Verily I say unto you, what things soever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and what things soever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in Heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Here the heart stands hushed at its power and God-delegated Authority.
“Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.” This is unexplored territory to most men today. We can bind Demons, bind disease, and habits, and bind men so they can not go on in the will of Satan; or use fearsome power to deliver souls over to Satan for the destruction of the body. “For I verily, being absent in body but present in spirit, have already as though I were present judged him that hath so wrought this thing, in the name of our Lord Jesus, we being gathered together, and my spirit, with power of our Lord Jesus, to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the Flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of Lord Jesus” (I Corinthians 5:3-5.
We may bind the power of Satan over a community, making it easy for men to accept Christ. “Whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Whatever in Jesus’ name we set free, God in Heaven will make good.
What power we have! Let’s use it! Will we arise to our mighty, heaven-given privileges? Look at the bound men and women everywhere, and the Word challenges us to go out and set the prisoner free.
What does this mean? All that it says, thank God. You can set diseased men free. We are doing it daily in our work! You can set demon-bound men free; you can break the chains that bind men, in that mighty Name. Most Christians are bound in some manner, either in testimony or in prayer, by fear and devilish doubt; they can be set free by a word if we use that name and then take their privileges.
What bondage to the world, and the binding, devilish spirit of the age we endure, that unseen bondage of the god of this age. How he holds men in leash! Yet every spirit may be free, yes, as free as Jesus.
What bondage to the fear of man; yet one authoritative word and the bond shall be broken.
What bondage to fear of want that makes men give pennies instead of dollars; yet there is freedom, glorious freedom for every bondaged soul. Reader! the Spirit is challenging you to arise and live this Truth.
What prayer meetings we would have if the Christians were free in prayer and testimony! God’s hands are tied until He can use ours. Angels are our servants. They cannot do our work. God is limited to our Faith, our obedience. God is as small in the world as we make Him. God is big only where some man makes Him big, by using this divinely given authority. We are the body of Christ; the Head is powerless without our hands and feet.
Oh, men, can’t you see how helpless God is until we let Him live omnipotently in our acts? A sin in the heart binds the arms of God that would embrace a multitude. Our fear to be used binds God’s omnipotence.
Men of God, be God’s men and use the authority delegated to you.
How The Early Church Used Their Authority

The Book of Acts is largely our Text Book; it is a series of stories of the triumphs of the Name of Jesus.
The first recorded use of their new heaven conferred authority is given in the third chapter, the healing of the impotent man at the Beautiful Gate. How quietly and assuredly the apostles say, “In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, arise and walk.” How God responds, and the man is healed. How the city is again moved, how Judaism is shaken! The apostles are arrested, forbidden to use the Name or preach in it. That Name has power in it. Jesus did no greater miracles when on earth than are recorded in the Book of Acts as done through His Name.
We see Peter striking a man and woman dead for lying. Awful power this is; power to heal and power to slay. They were walking in the omnipotence of the authority given them by Jesus. They were taking the words of Jesus seriously. They were acting as though the Word of God was true.
We have not space to tell of the men who walked in the freshness of this grace of God. We see Paul cause blindness to come upon the opposers. We see him cast out demons from Mediums. We see him stung by a viper and no harm come. We see the sick healed, the dead raised. Whole heathen cities turn toward the unknown God of the Jews.
In thirty-three short years this gospel, backed by the power of the Name, in the hands of common men was carried into every part of the Roman World. We see aprons, handkerchiefs, touched by Paul, sent out and laid on the sick, do the same mighty acts that Paul did in person.
These men lived in bodies like ours, with passions like ours, made mistakes as we do; yet they wrought miracles by this God-inspired authority over demons and disease. They were just men of like passions with us. What ails us, why do we not walk in power instead of weakness?
Paul could deliver a man over unto Satan for destruction of his body, or as he did Hymeneus and Alexander, that they might be taught not to blaspheme (I Timothy 1:20) — “Of whom is Hymeneus and Alexander whom I delivered unto Satan, that they might be taught not to blaspheme.”
Preachers were dangerous in those days. Christians had power to prove their claims. They preached; they practiced. They made good. “They delivered the goods,” as men say today.
Their Faith stood not in word only, but in demonstration and power. Miracles were the common order of the day. Christianity was a miracle in their day.

Every demon and angel is subject to the Imperial Name of Jesus and, wonder of wonders, He gave us the Power of Attorney to use that Name of Might. All our Authority is based on His Finished Work, but it is all enwrapped in His name. By His giving us the Legal use of this name He has put omnipotence at our disposal in our combat with Satanic hosts.
Mark 16:17-20, “And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
“So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken unto them, was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. In my name shall they cast out demons.” Here He defines our Legal Authority.
We shall cast out demons: (this means Authority over demons in their relation to men;) cast them out of peoples’ bodies; break their power over those bodies, minds, and spirits; break their power over meetings, homes, and sometimes communities. Our combat is not against flesh and blood but against the principalities, and powers in heavenly places; or in other words our war is against demons of all ranks, kinds, and authorities. They are attacking the human everywhere, and especially the children of God.
How are we to defend ourselves against them, or lead an assault on their hosts, and deliver the captives? The air is pregnant with evil spirits who seek to infest our bodies as bats do old buildings. The awful power of evil in our land eloquently proves what we write.
“In my Name ye shall speak in new tongues.” This new and startling manifestation of the Spirit is our Legal Right in the Name, where all the mighty powers of God are kept for us.
“In my Name they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not harm them. They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Here it is not sufference or pity, but Legal Authority. You have as much right to demand healing as you have to demand the cashing of a check at a bank where you have a deposit. You have a Legal Right to deliverance from Satan.
If any one oppresses you or enslaves you in this country, you have a Legal Right to protection from the government to which you belong and pay taxes. So you have Legal Rights in the Family of God. No man has a right to hold a white slave today; neither has Satan a Legal Right to hold a child of God in bondage. All disease is of the Devil. How glad the Father would be, if we would arise and take our Legal Rights. All bad habits are of the Devil.
John 14:13-14, 15:16, 16:23-24, “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, that will I do.”
This scripture does not refer to prayer as do the others. It is not coming to the Father with a petition, but it is taking the Master’s place. It is using His authority to cast out demons, to heal the sick. A literal translation would read: “If ye shall demand anything in my name, that will I do.” In His place we demand sickness and demons to leave in the authority of His Name, and He is there to confirm by His power the word that we speak. This scripture refers to our using the authority that He gave us in Mark 16:17-18.
Now notice John 16:23-24. “That whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, If ye ask anything of the Father, he will give it you in my name. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name; ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be made full.” This is praying to the Father in Jesus’ Name.
Here the Mighty Son of God who is now seated in the highest seat of Authority in the Universe gives us the Legal Power of Attorney to use the Might, Authority, and Power of His Name, in our earth struggles against Satan and demons. In the face of this mighty Fact, poverty and weakness of spirit are criminal. Here all Heaven with its might and Authority are at our disposal.
It is not trying to have Faith, but knowing the Legal Rights that are yours, as much yours as the clothes you wear — as the bed you sleep on, — the hat you wear, all yours, legally, blessedly yours.

When He had paid this penalty, He arose from the dead. He conquered Satan. He broke his dominion and took away his authority and power. Then, with the trophies of His triumph, He ascended to the right band of the Majesty on High and laid the tokens of His victory at the feet of His Great Father.
On the ground of this victory, the sinner has a legal right to accept Jesus Christ as a personal Savior. He has a legal right to Eternal Life. He has a legal right to Victory over sin and Satan. He has a legal right to a home in Heaven. He has a legal right to use the Name of Jesus in prayer. He has a legal right to his Father’s protection and care. He has a legal right to a son’s place in the Family of God. He has a legal right to the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, to the care and protection of the Spirit, and to the intercession and teaching of the Spirit. He has a legal right to be translated at the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus. He has a legal right to immortality for the body. He has a legal right to an inheritance in the New Heavens and New Earth. He has a legal right to live with his Father throughout Eternity.
Are We Claiming Our Rights?

There is no excuse for the spiritual weakness and poverty of the Family of God when the wealth of Grace and Love of our great Father with His power and wisdom are all at our disposal. We are not coming to the Father as a tramp coming to the door begging for food; we come as sons not only claiming our legal rights but claiming the natural rights of a child that is begotten in love. No one can hinder us or question our right of approach to our Father.
When we realize the great need of the unsaved world and know that need can only be met by the great heart of the Father operating through the Church, it stirs us to mighty intercession for a needy world. God cannot touch the human today except through the Church. It is His only mediator, and if the Church fails to assume its obligation then the hand of God is powerless. It staggers one to realize that God has limited Himself to our prayer life, and when we refuse to assume the obligations of prayer, God’s hands are paralyzed.
Our Authority

“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under law, but under grace” (Romans 6:14), or “Sin shall not Lord it over you. Sin has lost its dominion or authority over us. Satan has no legal authority over the New Creation, though he has over the old.
Satan has Legal Rights over the sinner that God cannot dispute or challenge. He can sell them as slaves; he owns them, body, soul and spirit. But the moment we are born again… receive Eternal Life, the nature of God, — his legal dominion ends.
Christ is the Legal Head of the New Creation, or Family of God, and all the Authority that was given Him, He has given us: (Matthew 28:18), “All authority in heaven,” the seat of authority, and “on earth,” the place of execution of authority. He is “head over all things,” the highest authority in the Universe, for the benefit of the Church which is His body.
Ephesians 1:20, “Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.” Here He is at the “Right Hand of God.” “Far above,” that is, His seat of authority transcends all other rulers.
Philippians 2:9-11, “Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” He has the Name above every name in the three worlds: Heaven, Earth, and Hell.

Are We Claiming Our Rights?
Our Authority
How The Early Church Used Their Authority
Christianity is a legal document. Most of our basic legal terminology comes from the Scripture. The very titles, Old Covenant and New Covenant, are legal terms. Every step in the plan of Redemption, from the Fall Of Man until Jesus Christ was seated at the right hand of the Majesty on High, having redeemed the human race, is simply a series of legal steps perfecting the most remarkable Legal Document the human has in its possession.
The plan of Redemption cannot he understood unless one reads it from the legal point of view. In this plan of Redemption there are three parties to the contract: God, Man, and Satan. God must be just to Himself, just to Man, and just to the Devil.

We understand that God created man, placing him here on the earth, and that He conferred upon him certain legal rights. Legal rights that are conferred are more easily forfeited than those that come by nature. These rights man transferred to Satan, God’s enemy. This brings the Devil into the plan so that he must be dealt with, and the whole scheme of Redemption is God’s seeking to redeem the human race from Adam’s sin, and doing it upon such an equitable basis that it will perfectly satisfy the claims of Justice, meet the needs of man, and defeat Satan on legal grounds.
The Fall of Man was a lawful act; that is, Adam had legal right to transfer the authority and dominion that God had placed in his hands into the hands of another. This gives Satan a legal right to rule over man and over creation.
The plan of Redemption is one of the most ingenious and most wonderful of all the many works of God. Notice what He is obliged to do. Man sold himself out to the Devil, making himself a bond slave, and that slavery will last until the lease or period of man’s dominion expires. God must in some way redeem fallen man from his sin, and Satan’s dominion. He must do it in such a way as not to be unjust to Satan, nor unjust to man. God must recognize and hold inviolate man’s treacherous act of transference of dominion. It was a legal act, and God has no right to arbitrarily annul it. He must show to Satan perfect justice at all points, and at the same time He must reach man in his helplessness and redeem him.
In order to do this, it is necessary that one come to the earth who is not a subject of Satan, and yet a man, and as a man meet every demand of justice against man. In order to accomplish this, there must be an Incarnation. This Incarnate one must not be a subject of Satan, nor a subject of death, and to this end God sends the Holy Spirit to a virgin in Judah, and she conceives and bears a son. This son is born, not of natural generation but of supernatural. The child is not a subject of death nor of Satan. He has the same type of a body that the first man, Adam, had before he sinned. Every step of the work that was accomplished by this Incarnate One was based upon perfectly legal grounds.
This Incarnate One met the demands, first, of the heart of Deity for a perfect human who would do His will; second, He met the demands of fallen man in that as a man He met the Devil and conquered him in honorable open combat. “Being tempted in all points, yet without sin.” He goes on the Cross, and God lays upon him the iniquity of the human race. He, then, with this burden upon Him and under Judgment of God, goes down into Hell and suffers the penalty demanded by Justice.

A New Type Of Christianity by E.W. Kenyon

415007_414813691921686_413947230_o

This New Creation, this new type of Christianity, is equipped of God for a supernatural life. God furnishes the equipment.
In Ephesians 6:11 He says: “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the cunning artifices of the adversary. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenlies.”
Our combat is not a mental one, nor a physical one. It is a spiritual combat.
No spiritual combat is fought by physical self-denial or a mental struggle. A spiritual battle is not won by physical means mental means, or any kind of work that a man can do.
The battle has already been fought by Jesus and won. We do not fight in this battle.
This is a Faith Fight

We win our battle by our recognition that it has already been fought and won by Jesus and by accepting the thing that Jesus has done for us.
We do not pray for it .We do not struggle for it. We simply look up and say, “Father, the battle has been won.”
In the Faith fight, God does it all. He conquered Satan and put away sin. He bore our diseases, so that we only need to thank Him and enjoy it.
We stand in that evil day when the temptations come like a flood, having girded our loins with this Truth or Reality.
We have come to know the reality of the finished work of Christ. We put on the breastplate of righteousness. That is, we act it, use it, and confess it.
We know that we are the righteousness of God in Him. This is an acknowledged fact. We know what we are in Him.
We know that righteousness permits us to stand in the Father’s presence without the sense of guilt or inferiority.
Our feet have been shod with the preparation of the Good Tidings of peace. We can run now with a message of peace to the world. We can bring to men the good tidings.
We have the shield of faith that withstands all the fiery darts of the evil one.
Spiritual Forces Stronger than Physical

God is a Spirit. He created man so He can create new flesh where disease has destroyed it.
God created this world of ours, filled it with rocks and all these physical objects by just the word of Faith.
This Word of Faith can rebuild destroyed tissues in our bodies.
You can understand that our combat is not with physical things, but with spiritual things. Our enemies are spirits. The diseases that afflict men are spiritual. When our reasoning faculties are convinced of these realities, disease is defeated. The ills that afflict men are spiritual ones.
We are masters of those things. In the Name of Jesus we reign as kings.
We take “the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God.” The combat is a combat fought with our lips. In our lips is the Word of God, the Sword of the Spirit.
With that Word we conquer disease. We say, “Disease, in the Name of Jesus Christ, stop being. Cancer, in the Name of Jesus, shrivel up and stop being. T.B., in the Name of Jesus, leave that body.”
We are masters. He made us masters. He made us to rule them as He did in His earth walk.
“With all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.”
II Cor. 3:5-6: “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God; who also made us sufficient as ministers of a New Covenant.”
He has given to us His own sufficiency, His own ability. The word, “dunamis” translated “power” means “ability.” Take this scripture as an illustration: “Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” It is according to the ability of God that is at work within us.
God’s marvelous ability is at work within us. We are equipped by God and with God. We have His Word that created the Universe. We have His Word that can slay or make alive. We have the Name of Jesus; and all the authority of Heaven is back of it and is invested in it. We have the power of attorney to use that Name. We have the great and mighty Holy Spirit Who raised Jesus from the dead dwelling in us. We have the same ability at work within us that wrought in Christ in His earth walk.
Read carefully Ephesians 1:19-23: “I want you to know what the exceeding greatness of the ability of God is to usward who believe. It is according to the strength of His might which He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead.”
Our equipment is spiritual, and spiritual things are mightier than physical.
The Church does not know that it has His ability. The Church is utterly ignorant of her place in the purpose of God.
Wars are created by demons, carried on by demon inspiration; but the Church is the master of demons. I John 4:4: “Ye are of God, my little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.” How little we have appreciated this!
The mighty Holy Spirit, who renewed the face of the earth, who healed the sick and raised the dead, who hushed the sea through Christ, is the same Holy Spirit that we have today. He has lost none of His ability.
The Father has tried to tell us that this One in us is greater than the demoniacal forces of the earth. He says, “Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.” You are masters. You are rulers. Demons cannot rule the world without your consent.
“I have given you ‘all authority’ over all the power of the enemy. Now go and exercise it!”
1 Cor. 1:30: “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who was made unto us wisdom from God.” Here Jesus is made unto us wisdom. It is God’s wisdom, not man’s. It is the wisdom that is greater than Satanic wisdom.
Two Kinds of Wisdom

There are two kinds of wisdom spoken of in the Word. There is one that comes down from above, and one that is of the earth earthy, sensual, or demoniacal.
This wisdom of which we are speaking is the wisdom that Jesus exercised in His earth walk. It is the wisdom that Jesus and the Father and the Holy Spirit used in Creation. We have access to it.
Can’t you see that we can defeat the adversary? Can’t you see that no matter what plans he makes, we are his superiors?
All that we need is to learn the secret of utilizing this wisdom. We have been trusting in lawyers and doctors who have nothing but Sense Knowledge. We have ignored our right to this supreme wisdom.
John 8:12 adds more light on this subject: “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in the darkness but shall have the light of life.” This means Divine Wisdom. This means that we are no longer to walk in doubt, fear, and uncertainty. We walk as Jesus did, with a sure step.
I John 2:10,11: “He that loveth his brother abideth in the light and there is no occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in the darkness, and walketh in the darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth because the darkness hath blinded his eyes.” This is what Eternal Life does in us. Let us tell it to the world.

A New Type Of Christianity by E.W. Kenyon

415007_414813691921686_413947230_o

They have cultivated in us a sense of unworthiness that has robbed us of spiritual initiative and kept us in a state of bondage to fear and ignorance and sin. We did not know the sin problem had been settled.
The object of this knowledge is “to walk worthily of the Lord unto all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work.”
Jesus said: “I am the vine, and ye are the branches.”
We are branches of Christ. We are a part of Christ. We are a shoot out of Christ, and Christ’s fruit is to be borne by us. He cannot bear fruit now. We are the branches, so we are to bear fruit in every good work.
Meanwhile “we are increasing in this exact knowledge of the Father.” We are to be “strengthened with all of his ability according to the might of his glory unto all steadfastness and all longsuffering with joy.”
That is climactic! That is lifting us above circumstances, above the dominion and power of Satan, and making us absolute masters where we have tremblingly served as slaves.
We have the solution to this in the 12th verse: “Giving thanks unto the Father who has given us the ability to enjoy our share of the inheritance of the saints in light.” (Literal translation.)
We are Redeemed

“Who delivered us out of the authority of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the son of his love; in whom we have our redemption, the remission of our sins.” Col 1-13,14.
We have been delivered out of the authority of Satan. Satan no longer has a right to rule over us.
The Church has never acknowledged it, has never known it. Here and there an individual has entered into his inheritance, but the rank and file of the Church have lived under the bondage of fear and doubt and Satanic supremacy.
We are not only delivered out of Satan’s dominion but we are “translated into the kingdom of the son of his love.”
This is the New Creation. This is where the sons of God actually “reign as kings in the realm of life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:17 (Weymouth) .
It is in Christ that we have our redemption, the remission of all that we have ever done.
We have been redeemed out of the hand of the enemy. We have been recreated. We have received the nature and Life of Deity. We have come into the family of God, and as sons and daughters are enjoying the fellowship of our Father.
We are exercising our rights and privileges in the Name of Jesus. Disease and sickness have lost their dominion. We are masters over them. Poverty and want no longer challenge us. We know our Father.
The Church has been dominated by Sense Knowledge, which has given it the sense of unworthiness.
How many times we have said, “If I could live a holy life, a pure life; if I could live a Jesus life, I would have the same ability that Jesus had.” How men everywhere have hunted for holy men who could do their praying for them! The sick are continually searching for someone who can pray the prayer of faith while they live in the realm of unbelief.
They do not know that as sure as they were Born Again, they became New Creations and received the very Nature of the Father That Nature has made their spirits whole. That Nature has made them New Creations.
The sin problem has been settled for them. They are the Righteousness of God in Christ, now. They can stand in the Father’s presence just as Jesus did, but they do not know it. They can have their prayers answered as Jesus did, but they do not understand it.
They have lived in ignorance of spiritual things. They have much Sense Knowledge. They have all that our schools and colleges and universities can impart and yet that Sense Knowledge has not unveiled to them what they are in Christ.
They do not know that they have as much a right in the Father’s presence as Jesus has, so that with all boldness they may stand before that Throne of Grace unabashed, without sin-consciousness.
If they knew these things, fear would no longer dominate them. They would be masters. They would no longer submit to the rule of the senses.
Lordship of the Word

They would joyfully admit the Lordship of the Word.
If this knowledge could only be given to them, they pass over into the Love Realm. They would begin to live the Love Life. Now they are afraid of it.
They do not know that Jesus brought a new kind of Love that was a part of God, Himself. God is Love, and this new kind of Love has been given to us.
This is the genius of Christianity. This new kind of Life, and this new kind of Love beget a new kind of Righteousness — a righteousness that cannot be obtained by works, by sacrifice, by prayer, or by anything else a man can do.
It is a gift which comes with the New Creation. Every child of God has it.
Until a man knows that he is the righteousness of God, he will never take advantage of his privileges. He will always live in bondage to the enemy.
But the instant he knows it, he will come boldly into the presence of the Father. He will feel at home in the Throne Room.
I want you to note John 1:16: “Of his fullness have we all received, and grace upon grace.” This New Creation is the fullness of God as we are taught in Ephesians 1:23: “Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.” “Fullness” means completeness.
Christ’s Nature and Life have been poured into our spirits. Where we were empty and had only a vague longing in life, we now have found reality.
Equipped of God

A New Type Of Christianity by E.W. Kenyon

415007_414813691921686_413947230_o
What is This New Thing?
We are Redeemed
Lordship of the Word
Equipped of God
This is a Faith Fight
Spiritual Forces Stronger than Physical
Two Kinds of Wisdom
Discerning men and women have been asking for a new type of Christianity.
They do not want a new philosophy or a new metaphysical concept of Christ, but an unveiling of the reality that was seen in Jesus in His earth walk.
We have looked back for it, but it is not in the past.
The early Church did not have the thing for which hearts are craving.

You understand that the early Church did not have the Pauline Revelation of Christ, of His Substitution, of the body of Christ, or of His ministry at the right hand of the Father for us.
They had the contact of the three years of Christ’s earth walk.
They were New Creations; they had experienced all that God reveals to us through Paul, but they did not understand.
They knew of His death on the cross. They had seen it.
They knew of His resurrection as a reality.
They had eaten with Him, walked with Him, and fellowshipped with Him after His resurrection.
They had seen Him ascend.
They were present on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came to the earth, when the Church was born.
They did not know that they were New Creations, however.
They had first-hand Sense Knowledge evidence of everything that took place. They did not know that they were the righteousness of God in Christ. They had marvelous experiences but did not know what caused it.
They were not walking by faith then. They were walking by sight, by hearing, and by feeling.
John says: “That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we beheld, and our hands handled, concerning the Word of Life.” (I John 1:1).
The early Church walked in the realm of the senses.
God permitted it because the fuller Revelation had not been given.
The Pauline Revelation did not get into the hands of the Church until after the beginning of the second century.
What is This New Thing?

It is the New Man created in Christ Jesus. II Cor. 5:17: “Wherefore, if any man is in Christ there is a New Creation.”
This new man will be like Christ.
Eph. 2:10: “We are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus.”
In his love-life he carries the solution of the human problem. He will bring God to the earth again. He will live and walk as Jesus lived and walked among men. Here are some striking facts about this New Creation man.
John 8 :32: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
The 36th verse: “If therefore the son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
You shall know the reality, and that reality shall set you free.
What is this reality?
It is the answer to the human heart’s craving.
It is the thing for which man through the ages has been searching.
This heart hunger has given to us all the human religions.
This New Man that comes into the full consciousness of his rights will be free.
Col. 1 :9-12 has some startling truths: “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it do not cease to pray and make request for you.”
Hear this prayer.
It is the prayer that the Spirit has prayed for every one of us: “That ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.”
The Greek word “epiginosko,” which is translated “knowledge,” is more than simply knowledge. It is “exact knowledge,” “perfect knowledge.” It is a knowledge in all spiritual wisdom and revelation.
Spiritual wisdom is not a product of the senses, for Sense Knowledge cannot fathom it.
For instance, the first three chapters in Ephesians are an example of the use of “epiginosko.”
They let down the curtain so that we may look into the very purpose of the heart of the Father God.
This knowledge, is a knowledge of His will.
He never willed that we should be toys in the hand of the enemy. He planned that when the Church came into being, it would be composed of His sons and daughters, — that they would be demon masters and world rulers.
They were to rule the laws of Nature. They were to dominate the laws of nature as Jesus did in His earth walk. They were to control the winds and the waves.
They were to be masters of the animal creation. They were to have restored to them in the Name of Jesus the lost authority of the Garden of Eden.
But the Church does not know anything about it. We have been taught that we are poor, weak worms of the dust; that we must be ruled by Satan; that we must live lives of poverty and want; and that we are too unworthy to have our prayers answered.

Hear Jesus speaking again in John 15:11: “These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.” That is a miracle, that Jesus’ joy may be made full in me. That not only will I make Him joyful, but He imparts to me His joy. That something that makes the evangel irresistible, now fills my heart. When I speak my face will glow, my voice will be filled with the melody of heaven.
You see, when He builds himself into us and we begin to labor together with Him, we have His Life, we have His Love, yea, we have Himself. Christ then is being formed in us. Now it is no longer I but Christ.
The men who have grown deeply spiritual, are the men in whom the Word has had full control. John 15:7,8 may throw a little light on this: “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you.” Every believer is in Christ, but His words are not in every believer. What does it mean to have His words abiding in me, gaining the absolute ascendancy, dominating me in every phase of my thinking and my life. As Jeremiah said, We feed upon the Word of God. Now I am feeding. I am living in that Word. I am practicing it. I am what James (1:22,23) calls, “a doer of the Word.”
Jesus said that the doer of the Word dug deep and built his house upon the rock, and it made his house able to stand against any storm that might beat against it. He not only said that, but: He said “If ye abide in me, and my words have found their place in you, then you can ask what you will and it shall be created by the Father for you,” brought into being. Oh, I see it now. I co-operate with him.
In that fifth verse he said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches.” Now I can understand it. As a branch, I am going to bear His fruit. I am laboring together with Him. He and I are operating together, are identified one with the other. He is finding a place for His ability to energize and act here on the earth again.
It is like a wealthy man that finds an intelligent, young man that he can set up in business, and the young man has ability to use this wealthy man’s money. Now He and I are laboring together and the Father is glorified because I am bearing much fruit, and I prove by my life my discipleship. I prove that I am growing in Grace, and I am growing in that “exact knowledge of God, in all spiritual Wisdom and Understanding, to the end that I may walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing.” I am bearing fruit now in every good work, and I am increasing in that exact knowledge, that perfect knowledge of the Father.
You have noticed in Jesus’ life that there was always a sense of sureness, a sense of certainty. There was no vacillating. He never stopped and said, “Now pray that I may have wisdom.” He had it. Into our lives comes that same quiet sureness, that certainty that we know the Father’s will. We are walking in it. And we are made fruitful with His ability that is at work in us. It is according to the might of His glory, and it has given to us steadfastness and long-suffering, with joy.
Colossians 1:12: “Giving thanks unto the Father, who has given us the ability to enjoy our share of the inheritance of the saints in light.” This is a climax of the heart desire of the Father that we should so let Him live His Life in us, that we begin to enjoy our share of our inheritance in Christ.
We are drawing dividends on what He has done for us and in us. We are coming to enjoy the riches of His Grace.

I Corinthians 2:11,12 “For who among men knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of the man, which is in him? even so the things of God none knoweth, save the Spirit of God.” Now note carefully the next verse: “But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God; that we might know the things that were freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Spirit teacheth.” We are learning to grasp this exact truth by the aid of the Spirit.
We find that in Colossians 1:9,10 this knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding is to enable us to walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing. Our walk is before the world. We might say that it is a two-fold walk. One phase of it is before the Father, and the other is before the world. I am to walk worthy of the Lord before men so they will recognize this New Life in me. I am so Jesusized (if we could coin the word), that they will become Jesus-conscious in my presence.
I knew a woman that found Christ through my ministry over the air. Her husband was a godless man and she had been a fit companion in his worldliness, but now she had found Christ. It went on for several weeks until finally one morning before he went to work, he said, “Do you know, woman, that I have been living and sleeping and eating with Jesus Christ for the last two weeks.” She was a keen-minded woman, and she said, “How do you enjoy it?” Tears filled his eyes. He said, “I wish I was like that. I wish I had that something that has come into your life.” You see, Jesus had so lived in her that the man could feel the presence of the Master in her.
Two young men were working in a shop. One of them was studying the Word in our classes. The fellow working on a lathe next to him said to him one morning, “Harry, I would like to ask you something that is personal. What have you in your life that makes you so different from all the other men here in the room?” The boy answered, “Jesus.” “Oh,” he said, “that is religion; I don’t believe in that. And the young boy said, “It is not religion, it is the Living Christ.”
Christ magnified in my body, said Paul (Philippians 1:20); Christ made large in my daily walk. In Philippians 1:20,21 he said, “For to me to live is Christ.”
Once those words burned in my heart for months. The Master was saying to me, “I want to be magnified in you. I want to absorb your personality. I want to take possession of your dreams and ambitions. I want the first place in your life.” I was afraid of Him. I spoke out, “Lord, I don’t dare let you have control of me, for if I do I will never achieve the things for which I am so ambitious. And I shall never forget, a voice in my heart said, “I love you more than you love yourself. I am more ambitious for your success than you are. I have the ability to put you over.”
I said, “Lord, don’t make me preach on the streets. You will send me down into the slums. I don’t want to go there Lord.” I struggled again, but He was tender with me. His Wisdom became so apparent. Often in my extremities He had helped me. When I would get into difficulties He would lift me out.
One day I said, “Master, I will go with you. Here I am; take all of my ability. Swallow up my ambition with your own, but give me Love like your Love. Help me to so live that men can see you in me, feel you, that when I speak it will be your voice. When I lay hands on the sick it will be your hands.” And then I heard a Scripture in Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I that live, but Christ liveth in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in your Master, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.”
Then I said, “Now Master, I trust you and I give myself up to you.” You see, when we come quietly in our heart-life to the place where we say “Yes” to Him, then He reveals Himself in us. It is not forced upon us. He doesn’t drive us. He doesn’t force us with sickness or the loss of property. The sickness comes because we are not aware that He can shield us.
We have gone the way of our inclinations. We have gone the way of our own desires and our plans have been worked out, reasoned out with sense knowledge. How it must hurt His heart when we are so unwise; when we do so many foolish things. When His Wisdom is at our call, His Ability awaits us, we are almost limitless. All that He is, is at our disposal, but sometimes we choose a road that leads to heartaches and disappointments.
You see, it is this forming of Christ within us. That is the secret that is the genius of the New Creation. “Wherefore, if any man is in Christ, there is a New Creation.” It is perfect as far as it has gone, but He wants to build Himself more fully into that New Creation, and so He takes the things of Christ that are unveiled to us in the Word, and the Spirit builds them into us.
We admired the strength and courage of Jesus in His earth walk. We were thrilled at the ability that Christ manifested as He met every difficult situation. His Wisdom, gentleness and forbearance we admired, and now the Spirit wants to take all of those things that we have admired in Jesus and build them into us. Can’t you see what it means? It is the Father’s ambition to make us successful and to enable us to enjoy the riches that belong to us.
I don’t know whether you have noticed it or not, but in one of the prayer Scriptures in John 16:23,24, Jesus said this: “And in that day ye shall not pray to me. (This is literal). “But verily, verily, I say unto you, if ye shall ask anything of the Father, He will give it to you in my name. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be made full.” Joy is something that comes into the Recreated human spirit. The natural man doesn’t have it.

Years ago when I was the head of the school back in the East, after an evangelistic
campaign I would invariably ask some of the teachers, “Have I grown any since you
last saw me? Can you see any marks of growth in my spiritual life?” I was so fearful
that a month or two would go by that I hadn’t grown in Christ and in Knowledge
of the Word.
II Peter 3:18: “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ.” Grace means Love at work. The Greek word means “Love Gifts.” The Spirit
longs for us to grow in this Love Life; to have the Love Nature of Jesus
demonstrated in our daily walk. I am convinced beyond the shadow of a doubt,
that only as we yield ourselves to the Lordship of Love, can He ever build Himself
into us.
It is not knowledge of the Scriptures. I may have a vast knowledge of the Word.
That isn’t it. It is the Word that is built into me and becomes a part of me that
counts. As you study the Pauline Revelation you become convinced that the ultimate
of every one of those Epistles is the building of the Jesus Life in the individual. His
plan for building Himself into us is striking. We must take Jesus’ place. We must learn
to act in His stead. There must be the conscious training of our spirits to be His actual
representatives.
Colossians 1:9-12 gives us an intimation of the passion of the Father to make
Himself known to us in such a real way that we can enter into all the riches of the
fulness of His Life that belongs to us. Here is a prayer of the Spirit through the lips of
Paul: “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray and
make request for you, that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all
spiritual wisdom and understanding.” The word knowledge in the Greek is
“epignosis.” It means full knowledge, complete knowledge, exact knowledge. We
should have that kind of Knowledge, for it is in this Revelation.
We have the Holy Spirit who inspired it as our teacher. He has never left His
position as an instructor. He is here in my heart and yours, and He longs to fill us
with the exact knowledge of the Father’s will in all Spiritual Wisdom and
Understanding. It will be Wisdom to use the knowledge of this Revelation in our
daily walk. It will be Wisdom to know how to use the statements of fact as well as
the promises in the Gospels. It will be Wisdom to know how to make this message
known in an attractive way. We are to have “knowledge of His will in all spiritual
wisdom,” a deeper insight into the very heart of the Father.
I Corinthians 2:9,10 may throw some light on this. “Things which eye saw not,
the ear heard not, and which entered not into the heart of man, whatsoever things
God prepared for them that love him.” These are revealed to us today in this
Revelation through the Spirit, for the Holy Spirit is able to search all things, yea, the
deep things of God, and our recreated spirit is enabled to follow the Holy Spirit in
this searching of the Riches of His Grace.
Most of these riches are in the Pauline Revelation. In Ephesians 3:8 we catch a
glimpse of where Paul said, “Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was
this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.” These
unsearchable riches belong to us, but, like pearls, we have to search for them.
